Closing the Gender Gap in tech involves – amongst other things – Making the industry more inclusive. For Bumble one route to tackle inclusion and accessibility head on was to create the Bumble Tech Academy. Aideen Farrell, Senior Engineering Manager at Bumble Inc was a driving force behind the planning and launching of the academy, a collaboration between the Bumble social innovation, tech and talent acquisition teams. Here she shares with us the journey so far, what Bumble has learned from running the tech academy and crucially the belief that Tech companies need to take a more proactive approach to showing belief in, and recruiting women and folks from underrepresented backgrounds into tech.
