Ashley is a 52-year-old woman who has been part of the ever-evolving world of technology for 30 years in parallel to successfully raising a family.
She started her career in the telecommunications sector as a fresh face 21-year-old who was very determined and would never take no for an answer. She hadn’t studied engineering or computer science but what Ashley offered was an inquisitive and logical demeanor with an ability to listen and learn which led quickly to her being able to question and challenge from a both a technical and business perspective; this alternative and broader view was soon valued by both the experienced and usually male senior telco & network engineers that she was working alongside and by the supporting business functions.
Ashley remained in the telco and media sector for 17 years in total working for 3 different global & multicultural telco providers during some of most exhilarating, challenging and opportunistic times that really defined the connected telephony and technology world that continues to serve almost seamlessly both business and consumer worlds today.
12 years ago she changed her focus from being a pure technologist to be more focused on technology transformation & effective business change management. She was able to apply her analytical, commercial and operational knowledge to help develop transformation strategies, optimize business agility, accelerate growth and value, drive cultural change and identify how risk can be reduced & measured across all business functions including technology. She has held a number of leadership & strategic transformation roles within the logistics, financial and data services sectors.
The business experience and skills that Ashley has gained through both her professional and personal life enable her to be provide guidance, motivation, role modelling and emotional support (when required) in a trusted advisory capacity.
